Disclaimer

The 175 Project – including this website, our emails, our community spaces, our speaker series, and anything shared by Steve or by fellow members – is provided for general informational and motivational purposes only. Nothing here constitutes medical, psychological, nutritional, financial, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a substitute for care from a qualified doctor, therapist, dietitian, or other professional who knows your individual circumstances.
Where we reference research or evidence (for example, on exercise, journalling, meditation, reading, or learning), we do our best to represent it accurately and to be upfront about its limitations. But research findings are population-level averages — they describe what tends to help many people, not what is guaranteed to be safe or effective for you specifically. Individual results vary, and what works well for one member may not suit another.
If you have an existing health condition — physical or mental — are pregnant, are recovering from illness or injury, or are otherwise unsure whether a new activity is right for you, please speak with a qualified professional before beginning any new exercise, meditation, journalling, or lifestyle routine, including anything suggested through The 175 Project.
Our community — the weekly rituals, Monday Moans, Sunday Share, and everything in between — is built on peer support and shared experience. It’s a genuinely valuable thing, and we believe in it. But peer support is not clinical treatment, and fellow members and Steve are not acting as your therapist, doctor, or counsellor, however well-meaning the advice. If you or someone in the community appears to be in crisis, please encourage them — or yourself — to contact a professional or one of the services on our Resources page directly, rather than relying on the community alone.
Participation in The 175 Project, including any exercise, meditation, or other activity you choose to undertake as part of your “hour,” is entirely at your own discretion and risk. You know your own body, mind, and circumstances better than we do — please listen to them, and adjust or stop any activity that doesn’t feel right for you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The 175 Project, Steve, and anyone else involved in creating or delivering our content accept no liability for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of this website, our community, or any content, guidance, or suggestion provided through them. This disclaimer doesn’t exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where applicable under UK or US law).
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact emergency services directly (999 in the UK, 911 in the US). For non-emergency support, our Resources page lists mental health, eating disorder, addiction, and domestic abuse helplines for both the UK and US.
We may update this disclaimer from time to time as the community and its offering evolve. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
